MICROSOFT TIER-1 EVENTS

A selection of Microsoft Tier 1 events and experiential activations I worked on over the course of 6 years.

Microsoft has a very robust and pointed brand, but their yearly events need more than the commercial, public-facing brand provided. Through the years, I helped develop many event brand guides, pulled from the parent brand, and applied to additional, often unconventional media (eg. unique stage designs, floor graphics, window clings, booths, etc.). Building these event guides took an understanding of the current brand and where/when to bend the rules to best serve live and digital audiences from 5,000 to 60,000. They also often involved a very delicate dance of developing special event palettes that aligned with certain company verticals and satisfied the stakeholders of each event (surprise, they all loved blue!).

Microsoft Ready, 2017 & 2018

Role: Event identity system, style guide, print collateral, and website design.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

MGXFY16, 2015

Role: Event theme ideation, design support

PBJS played a lead role in shaping Microsoft’s most important recurring events for more than a decade, growing community across key audiences year over year. Our 20,000+ audience for Microsoft’s annual global sales summit encompasses dozens of cultures and backgrounds. What unites it is a shared journey, into forging new ways for businesses of every size — and Microsoft itself — to reinvent in a landscape shaped by big data, cloud computing, and AI. As this program’s AOR since 2002, PBJS entrusted with every aspect of a nine-month cycle that begins with content strategy, extends to the creative approach, and covers every detail of production execution.
